Study at Philosophy

Philosophy is a very comprehensive study and system of science which can not be explained using only a word or sentence on a piece of paper. Philosophy is part of our life too. If we want to study in the faculty of philosophy seriously. We will find many interesting subjects of study. Sometimes, most people who do not know what is philosophy would say a philosophy is about abstract things, and use terms such as crazy,atheist,destroyer, non sense, rebellion and so on. We think in studying philosophy there are no limitations and the boundaries are not clear. How should we study it, is there any rules that are better to understand things with than we already have. There are too many things to be learned and there could be trouble or problems in our study if we are not careful to make distinctions.

In studying about philosophy we can imagine a man who has been walking to the jungle and had lost his way. He does not know how to come back or to go out from it. He went back and asked some help him, to show where he is now, or to memorise where he was. He whished that people could hear his voice in a far off place and could help him because he was trapped deep in the jungle which was made by himself. Sometimes, cases like theses often occur for us in studying about philosophy. We have not realized that we do the same thing. We study too many ideas, concepts or even philosopher’s arguments themselves, but we do not understand what we have just done. It is very difficult to give explanations and arguments. If we want to not be lost, we should know the principles of studying philosophy. There are three principles to sketch in study about philosophy in general.

First, recognize the reach of philosophy and the definition of philosophy. This is based on terminology and etymological definition to get better knowledge and have clear ideas about philosophy. Second, studying about history of philosophy more seriously and keep in your head. Even though I am not studying this very well, but I try to review it because if we want to know philosophy as a system of knowledge we must study the history and understand it before deepening our knowledge. third, outlining or sketching about philosophy thinking and the development as well as we can and know.

Those principles are not always followed by students. It all depends on your interest which one is the best method for you to study philosophy in an easy, effective and fun way. I believe that all of you know about that better than I do.
